The sewing thread is divided into two types, one is impregnation and the other is contact. Under the immersion method, optional lubricating agents include the following two: cationic hydroxy silicone oil emulsion (mascara milk) and silicone wax water emulsion. Under the contact method, there are three kinds of lubricant oils that can be selected: silicone oil (line oil), 201 methyl silicone oil and (silicone) silicone wax emulsion. The products listed above have low to high performance. Of course, there are differences in the same products produced by different manufacturers. For example, for the silicon wax emulsion under the impregnation method, if it is done well, it can be completely adsorbed on the sewing thread, and finally only the clear water is left, there is no pollution, and the cleaning is convenient. For example, there are 201 methyl silicone oils under the contact method. Compared with imported products, domestic products are slightly less than adequate.

Why silicone wax lubricants are the best sewing thread lubricants? In principle, silicone wax can stay on the surface of the sewing thread for a longer period of time. We know that the structure of the sewing thread is fluffy. In this case, after the oil is applied to the sewing thread, the oil can easily penetrate into the inside of the thread. If the oil goes inside the line, where does the sewing thread have good lubrication? Therefore, before the silicone waxes appeared, the line-manufacturers ensured the lubrication performance of the line by increasing the oiling rate. However, there are also problems with this. First of all, there is no doubt that the cost has increased. In addition, there is more oil on the line and the cleaning workload of the line is greater. In addition, there are also problems in use, such as embroidering a thread and embroidering a pattern, the use of lines is very dense. You have more oil on the line. When you are ironing, the oil will seep out and contaminate other places.

As early as the 1980s, foreign countries discovered that silicon wax products are superior to pure silicone oils. Because it is a compound of silicone oil and wax. In the above we know that silicone oil can easily penetrate the inside of the wire, but the wax can stay on the surface as a solid. We also know that wax is also a good lubricant product. At the same time, there are many types of waxes. For different needs, silicone wax lubricants can be compounded with antistatic agents, softeners, and the like. In this way, it not only provides good lubricity, but also other properties of the sewing thread can be greatly improved!

Since the wax is so good, can we use wax directly? Now there are such products as wax rings and, for example, line oils. Actually line oils are small amounts of silicone oil plus a lot of white oil (white oil is a kind of wax). However, the non-high temperature resistance of the wax greatly limits the use of wax oil.

The sewing thread is always put on the sewing machine. Now sewing speed is getting faster and faster. It is generally around 5,000 needles/minute in China, 7,000 to 8,000 needles/minute in foreign countries, and 9,000 needles/minute faster. At this speed, it can be inferred that the temperature of the sewing machine needle is definitely very high! The wax, at high temperatures, will char coke. If the sewing thread is wax, when it passes through the needle hole of the sewing machine at a high speed, it will slowly coke in the needle hole, and the final result is that the needle hole is plugged and the wire breaks down. Silicon is resistant to high temperatures and has a cleaning effect. When the wax is carbonized in the pinhole, silicon can take it away in time to keep the pinhole open. Therefore, the silicone wax compound can meet the high-speed sewing requirements.
